Happy Birthday

Happy Bday to us, Happy Bday to us, Happy Bday to UUUUSSS, Happy Bday to us.

Sean's birthday was yesterday, the 28th and mine is today.  So sad, Sean had to leave for work yesterday morning-- so we didn't really celebrate too much.

The last few weeks we have been layin low.  Literally, each day I twiddle my thumbs and sigh.  It's just another day that goes by without a world of sound for Ryan.  She has stopped babbling, and she's generally pretty quiet.  That sad, she's a super happy baby.  She laughs and giggles (especially at her brother.)  She just enjoys life.

One of the things she's been up to lately is finding her voice- she definitely knows there is something there because she can feel it.  I know this because she cries and whines with the back of her throat.  Almost to the point where she strains her vocal cords.  When she cries, it sounds like she's hurting her voice.  It's hard to explain, but if you are around her you would know what I mean.

So, we are officially on the count down-- 6 days left.  Yay!  Cannot wait to get this over with and get through with all this surgery stuff.

On the other side of the coin, Bryce is just having a blast being a two year old.  He's gotten to spend time with two of his uncles (my brothers) over the past couple weeks.  Both of them came up here this month because they thought Ryan might be hearing by now.  (Just gives me a good excuse to guilt them into coming up here again.....!)

All's good in the Reedy household other than that!  Please say your prayers for Ryan and a completion of a safe surgery.  And, if you haven't done so yet, look up Tripp-- we pray for him everyday.

Tripp

As you can imagine.  Busy busy busy.
So busy in fact that Sean and I pretty much had date night in the Philly airport this week.  Sad, very sad.  And pathetic I might add.  I as traveling to Charlotte as he was coming back from Boston.

So, I got to tell you.  I have become obsessed-- with Tripp Halstead. If you haven't heard of this little two year old, I'm not going sadden you with the details.  You should, however, go to his website.  http://www.teamboom4tripp.com

It certainly puts life in perspective.  I read all about little Tripp everyday, and now, Bryce even prays for Tripp.  We all pray for him.  We hug our kids a little longer every night.

8-Months

You are 8-Months Ryan girl.  Eight.whole.months.
Where does the time go?  You are a mover and a shaker-- literally.  I need to capture this on camera because when you are happy and excited, you dance from side to side.  It's hilarious, and you have the ladies at school talking about it all the time.  You make people smile.
You have lots of friends at school.  Everyone likes to come over to you and be social with you.  It's like you are little miss popular in the infant room.  Maybe it's because they like your hearing aids?  (Which by the way, are getting less and less use these days.  I cannot wait to turn those suckers in.)

We are super excited about your CI surgery in less than 3-weeks.  We cannot even hardly stand it.  The tubes are hopefully doing their job, and keeping those ears clear, so let's keep our fingers crossed for this go-round.  More on all that later.

You are not a huge fan of food.  I will say, you are pretty picky, or you just don't like much other than puffs.  You eat your food, but it takes forever.  I mean, seriously, forever.  You are just not a big fan, and I cannot find anything that you like really.  Except the puffs of course.  You stop crying when you get puffs.  Every time.  Sigh.

You sleep on your belly these days.  In the morning, when I have to get you up for your bottle, you are always on your belly.  You look so peaceful and so cute.  Unlike your brother, you pretty much lie flat on your belly.  Your big brother rarely sleeps on his belly, and when he does, he is usually on his knees, not on his belly.  (Which BTW, is definitely hilarious to see him sleep like this.)

You roll a lot these days-- back and forth, back and forth.  You have yet to figure out the crawling thing and you have yet to figure out how to go from your belly to sitting.  This is okay by me.  You just sit there and play with all your toys in front of you.  Bryce was never like this.  Ever.

And, you are quite the diva.  Everyone, supplies you with the cutest looking outfits with the cute small bows.  Hopefully more hair will start coming in more soon?!

We had the chance to go to the Phillies game last Tuesday evening.  It was so fun!  Advanced Bionics invited us to be a part of the support team for Jacob Landis, who is raising money for those in need of financial assistance for cochlear implants.  You can go to the website if you are interested in learning more: http://www.jacobsride.com/  Thanks Advanced Bionics, and a special thanks to our contact, Beth Anne MacDonald, who invited us and has been a consistently supportive person through our entire journey with Ryan.

Next game-- we'll be able to hear the crowd!  Go Phillies!

So much to say, so little time

Lots of topics, not much time to post.  Here's the low down.  Ryan is doing well.  After a week on her antibiotic and tubes in her ears (and a nice perfect little scar), she is a fabulous baby on the prowl.  She turned 8-months yesterday, and I'll save that for another post.

Big brother has been doing well, and they had a great time for St. Patty's Day in their sweet outfits from Grammy Charlene Reedy and Pops Reedy.

Potty training is also coming along.  Slowly.  Very slowly.

And I found pants that match Ryan's skirt!!!!  Pants are from J Crew and Ryan's skirt is Peek from Nordstrom.  Love it!  First mother / daughter outfit!

Ryan also got to enjoy gramps Krenz when he was here right after her surgery.  She loves gramps.  And of course we got a nice snapshot with Ryan's bunny ears on Easter!  So cute!
